Tuition Assistance and Tuition Waiver Overview
Service Members can schedule to meet with our Military and Veteran Services Advisor regarding programs of study that they are interested in. Before applying to or enrolling in classes with Cape Cod Community College, and obtaining Tuition Assistance (TA), Active Duty Service Members must contact their Education Services Specialist (ESS), Educational Service Officer (ESO) or visit an Education Center to declare an educational goal and create an educational plan.
The TA program can be of financial benefit by assisting with the cost of tuition at the College for eligible active duty, reserve, and National Guard personnel. You may be able to combine TA money with funds from the GI Bill® and can inquire with your ESO or ESS.
Each service has its own criteria for eligibility, obligated service, application process and restrictions. This money is usually paid directly to the institution by the individual services. Please note that, regardless of your branch of service, TA only covers the cost of tuition and not any associated fees. The current DoD cap for TA is $250 per Semester Hour or equivalent and $4,500 per fiscal year. Use of TA for fees and books is not currently authorized. Service Members can meet with our Military and Veteran Services Advisor regarding applying for financial aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) that you could be eligible for.

The veteran will not be restricted in any way for the first 90 days of the semester if the reason for the delay in making payments for the certified semester is due to a delay in receipt of benefits from the VA. After the 90 days, the College will treat each veteran on a case by case basis. Any portion of the student bill not covered by VA benefits is still expected to be settled by the due date.
